e6220 combined with PR03X eDock, DisplayPort will not work!
I have a new e6220 laptop. I am running Windows 7 64 bit with the latest updates. I previously had an e6320 laptop. I have PR03x eDocks on two TVs at home, and PR02x dock at the office with two DVI monitors attached. When I got my new 6220, I did not want to reinstall all my software, so I used CloneZilla to replicate the contents of my 6320 SSD to that of the 6220 of the same size (256 GB). Everything came on fine. I then went and updated the chipset drivers and all others found on the dell website. No drivers are missing, and even the BIOS and other firmware has been updated.
I noticed that when I took the laptop home, that I was unable to get the display to work on my television using the display port. This was the same on both PR03x docks. Both of which work perfectly fine with the 6320. I have tried multiple docks, multiple cables, and nothing works. The onboard HDMI port DOES work, however. Additionally, all other ports on both types of docks work... USB, DVI, Audio, LAN, eSATA and VGA all test good. It is simply the DisplayPort thta will not work.
I have been able to get it to display ONE time, when the laptop was closed, and resume from hibernate status. It displayed on the television at the standard 1366X768 resolution. I opened the lid, and the TV display went a way and it transferred to the dock again. I was unable to get device manager to recognize anything new, nor would the settings under Screen resolution detect the additional display. I have checked the BIOS to see if there is a way to turn display port on and off there, I cannot find one. I have updated all bios, firmware and drivers, including video and chipset drivers. No devices have errors or lack a driver. I have shut down, and turned the laptop on on the dock without the lid open, and still cannot get the TV display to function. I have attempted using the function key with the projector button to goto projector only... and after a few seconds windows returns with the message that there is no projector attached.
Any suggestions?
