i1150-How far does the screen open?

I bought an inspiron 1150. I was wondering how far the screen opens without overstressing the hinges?

Right now mine is open just a few degrees beyond vertical.

I know how I could test it, but I really don't want a broken screen on my hands :smileysurprised:

Anyone know for sure?

I have two laptops, one I have had for about 3 years. I open them about 45 degrees, more or less, from vertical. Never had reason to open them farther. Hope this helps.

You can open it 180 degrees.

To open the laptop for repair or whatever the screen has to be put at that angle.

180 degrees! Really? I guess I won't have to worry when I extend the screen a few degrees past the vertical plane.

I have a laptop cooling tray thay keeps the machine angled higher in the back, thus the screen needs to be "extended" further back for optimum viewing angle.

Thanks for the info.

I can get my 1150 all the way flat, even a bit past it. DON'T OVERSTRESS THE HINGES!!! Just had to say that, I cannot have people breaking their hinges, as I know the hassle.
