inspiron 1150 - flashing LED codes list available?
Hello, im troubleshooting my moms 1150. It won't stay on for more than 10 seconds after the power button is pressed - no image at all on the screen, no POST or anything. Her battery is weak, but even using just the AC adapter doesn't resolve the problem. The three LED's in the front are flashing in a pattern, along with the CAPS lock LED. Is there a cheat list of what the LED blinking light patterns mean?

Reseat the RAM - remove and reinstall. If that doesn't fix it, just about any other flashing sequence is a bad mainboard.

Also had problems with a dell 1150 insprion, thought it was a battery issue, previous work until the change of memory, it was working fine, replaced battery and adapter because I thought they were at fault. here it was bad memory stick. Once I changed memory from another laptop, there is still blinking light but that might be an issue with low battery since it has been charge nearly a week ago. Still like to know the meaning of the blinking lights. I refurnished three dell inspirion with some success. I like the compact size, but is limited to the software to xp or vista. Any suggestion on determing the meaning og blinking lights that flash at startup.
