You have a usb midi keyboard controller and can't control or record with it? To record you will need a midi sequencer (recording) program. Don't know if your Acid & SF programs do midi or just audio.

Configure your sequencer. Open it and look under 'options' or 'settings' or something similar and select your midi controller as the input device. Then 'arm' a midi track for recording.

Configure for midi recording:

If your midi controller came with a software driver then load that. Open the driver and configure it as per its instructions. If not, then

Open the Sounds and Audio Devices Properties box (right click on the volume icon on the taskbar and click 'adjust audio properties' , or go through the Control Panel).

Select the Audio tab.

Click on 'Volume' under 'Sound recording'. The Recording Control opens.

Select the midi device. If there is no option for midi select 'stereo mix'.

Configure for playback:

Open the Sounds and Audio Devices Properties box (right click on the volume icon on

the taskbar and click 'adjust audio properties', or go through the Control Panel).

Select the Audio tab.

Click on 'Volume' button under 'Sound Playback'. The Volume Control opens.

Make sure that midi or synth is not muted and the volume is on.

Hope this helps. I don't have your particular device or programs so can't be more specific.
