I am facing the same problem with BCM 2045 where the driver won't install

I need help here with my bluetooth device, which is known as "BCM2045

I googled and search many forums. Now i came to here hoping to get a solution to my problem.

(1) Problems :

Bluetooth icon at tray showing red color even though the device was already enabled. The device was also activated by pressing Fn+F2. Each time i right click on that icon and clicked 'enable bluetooth radio', I get a bluetooth service error message asking me to 'activate bluetooth using Fn+F2 or On/Off radio swith'. (The bluetooth and wireless LED light is turned on the bottom of my dell laptop Inspiron 6400)

Solutions tried:

1. Restart computer in safe mode and deleted the bluetooth known as "BCM2045" in device manager. Restarted and windows did scanned for new hardware which is the bluetooth device. Reinstallations failed with the Error message (1)

(1) Error Message Saying :

BCM2045

Driver with the inf constructed for windows 95 or later (as what i remembered)

2. Restart computer in safe mode and deleted all the USB host controllers and USB root Hubs in device manager. Restarted and windows did scanned for new hardware which were all the USB plugged in devices and contollers and ofcourse the bluetooth device 'BCM2045'. Reinstallations failed too with the same Error message (1)

3. Downloaded driver from Dell support "R127314" driver for 'Wireless 355 Bluetooth Module (Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR)' and Installed. Restarted computer. Problem (1) still occur.

4. Run window troubleshooting for that driver but it did not help.

First update your Windows XP SP2 operating system then restart.

Unistall the old driver you install for your bluetooth in Device Manager then restart again.

Find this link

Press download now.

or find Inspiron 1525 Laptop XP Driver and go to network and you'll find it.

Its a driver of Dell Wireless 355 Bluetooth Module (Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR)

After installing, double click the icon of the bluetooth at the taskbar tray to install appropriate drivers for your bluetooth device.

Note: Wait til its finish have a little patience coz its takes time.
