mSSD vs SSD for boot drive

I have recently purchased an Inspiron 17r SE (without the 32GB mSATA cache drive) and am now looking to upgrade my boot drive. Would it be better for me to purchase a mSSD or a regular SSD? I am looking to pick up a 256GB drive.
