Hi Wrath94,

Follow the steps to open the “Catalyst Control Center” and to switch the graphic card.

  1. Right click on the Screen.
  2. Select “Catalyst Control Center” from the list.

Select “Browse” and check if the game or the application that you are using is listed in the page. If the application or game is not listed, browse for it on the computer under the “Other Applications” area and click “Browse”.

Steps to assign applications to GPUs:

  1. In either Standard View or Advanced View, click “Power “à “Switchable Graphics”.
  2. Check that the application for which you want to assign a GPU is listed in the page. If it is not listed, click “Browse” in the “Other Applications” area to browse for and select the application; it is added to the list. Only one application can appear in the “Other Applications” list at a time.
  3. Click the GPU selection button next to the application to select the appropriate GPU.
  4. Click “Apply”.

When applications are started, they run on their assigned GPUs. For applications that do not have an assigned GPU, a message dialog box may appear prompting you to select one. In this case, click “Configure” in the dialog box to select the appropriate GPU.

Please try these steps and let me know the results.

If by Switching the GPU, you meant switching from "not assigned " to "High performance", I think I did it, but nothing changed..

After multiple tests and trials, i noticed the problem isn't essentially coming from my graphic card or driver, but it's my whole laptop's performance that is simply low for some unknown reason, it might be the order i installed the drivers with, but i don't think so... Do u have any other suggestions..?

Hi Wrath94,

Have you reinstalled Windows Operating system in the computer and were drivers reinstalled in the right order?

After the operating system is installed, the drivers should be installed in correct order for proper functionality of the hardware components. Please use this link which shows the right order: http://dell.to/YHndJF

If the drivers were not installed in the right order, please uninstall the drivers, restart the computer and install the drivers in order by following the list from above link.

Please post the results.

Have you noticed your laptop running hotter than normal? The graphics card will be under-performing if it overheats.

Or... if your system is generally slow it could be a hard drive issue running too slow...

@Nikhil D Yes , I went to the technician that was charged to reinstall the OS and te drivers and he assumed he did it in the right order and that it couldn't be the problem

@ZWER4E My laptop doesn't run hotter than normal, it just does when i play or run high graphics game for a hour or more, but i think it's normal.

how can a hard drive be running slow? and would be the reason of that?

Hi Wrath94,

Try performing a Clean Boot by following the steps from this link: http://dell.to/1ee6IMz

This will help us in isolating which program is causing the problem.

Please check and reply.
