If the system is under warranty, call Dell for repair. If it's not, first thing to do is try a new OEM Dell AC adapter - if that doesn't solve the problem, replace the DC power jack:

And if that doesn't solve the issue, it's the mainboard that's faulty and will need to be replaced.
Without a recognized AC adapter, the battery will not charge.

Does the system recognize the AC adapter or is it showing "unknown"? F2 at powerup to get into UEFI setup to check.
