There is already a solution for your question . Please refer to the link below http://dell.to/LtmPTHUpon your upgrade of the OS and you may get the Base system Devices missing bang in the Device manager, try installing the Chipset driver and the restart your computer and that should do it.
Thanks for the reply, I have installed the Chipset driver as suggested from the drivers on DELL.com against my service TAG. This seems to nearly fix the issue ... what I now have is this:
The "Other devices", and subsequent "Base System Devices" drivers not being installed issue, has now been replaced by "Non-Plug and Play Drivers", which from first glance seemed to solve the issue ...
however I now have within the Non-plug and Play Drivers a warning exclamation warning showing that the "logMeIn Kernel Information Provider" device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed. (Code 24).
Would ask you to just Right click on the "Non-Plug and Play Drivers" and Click on Update Software and then it would ask you to "Update the software automatically" or "Browse to update the driver". Select Update automatically and see if that fixes it.
If it doesnt then I would request you to Right click on "Non-Plug and Play Drivers" and then Click Properties. Select the tab 'Details' and then Change the drop down list under 'Property' to 'Hardware Id's'. You should find some Codes / Values coming up. Just right click on the values, copy them and reply back so that I can check on this.
Right clicking on "Non-Plug and Play Drivers" doesn't give me the option to click properties, the only options are General & Driver.
However I do have these options when I right click on "LogMeIn Kernel Information Provider", however the drop down menu under 'Property' doesn't have the option of 'Hardware Id's'.
Thanks for giving the pictures Mike. This is not actually considered to be a driver problem. Just click on "View" tab on the Device Manager and uncheck "Show Hidden Devices" and that should make it dissapear.
These are normal application drivers which are triggered because of the applications you install on the computer, it doesn't mean you have an issue with the drivers.
