studio 1558 touchpad driver not installing
Hi Folks,
Just installed a hard drive into this Studio 1558 laptop. Besides the tab key not working my biggest issue is the Touchpad not working. Owner says that it worked when the hard drive failed.
Studio 1558 laptop (Service Tag: : Service tag removed per privacy policy>)
Installed Win 7.
Located and installed drivers in correct order according dell.com article. (or at least I tried to)
dell touchpad driver used R242713
synaptic pointing device driver "is" listed in programs
synaptic pointing device - v14.0.2 24Aug09 "is"listed in control panel/mouse properties/device settings... but there is no device listed
no device listed in device manager
Where did I go wrong?
