xps 17 network adapter issue
Hi
I don't seem to have access to my network adapter even though it is listed in device manager as working perfectly. Intel(R) Centrino(R) Advanced-N 6230 is the product.
'No intel wireless network adapter was found' is what my intel wifi utility tells me
can anyone help?
cheers

Hi gypsyranger,
Welcome to the Community,
Try uninstalling and reinstalling the driver for the Intel wireless card (which includes the Intel utility). To uninstall right click on the Intel wireless card in Device Manager, click uninstall, put a check mark in the box for Delete driver software, click OK.Reboot system and reinstall the driver from the link below:
www.dell.com/.../DriverFileFormats
Hope this helps,
Thank You

gypsyranger,
I still have problems helping with this adapter, so maybe Roshan can also help.
Places to look to see if your Connection is enabled
Dell has Updated Drivers for the Intel 6230 Wireless Networking Adapter Save them to the desktop.
Make a system restore point.
Start, control panel, device manager, network, right click on Intel® Centrino® Advanced-N 6230, left click uninstall.
Tell it to remove the drivers and software for the adapter.
Restart your computer.
Install the drivers saved to the desktop. In the same room as the router, try to connect. What happens?

Intel® WiFi Products — Power Save Polling (PSP) causes connection issues with some access points
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options\Create a Power Plan
Select High performance.
Start, control panel, device manager. Click on Network and then right click on your wireless adapter, left click properties, power management. Uncheck the box, allow computer to turn off this device to save power.
While you're in the device manager, click on the advanced tab. Look to see if this adapter has antenna diversity. Since this is a newer model adapter, I don't know if it does or not. If it does have Antenna Diversity, try changing it from Auto to Aux.
Let us know and maybe Roshan can help.
