PowerPath and IBM AIX LPAR
hi,
IHAC wanting to purchase PowerPath for AIX environment. He has p570 server consisting of 8 CPU/32 Cores. He will be creating approximately 15 LPAR's on it. The Core assigned to each LPAR will vary, in range of 4-8. PowerPath will be installed on each LPAR correct? How to license PowerPath - based on CPU in base p570 i.e. 1 host and 8 CPU's or based on LPAR count?
Kindly suggest.

Hello,
I work in the CS support group specializing in AIX/Powerpath, so I thought I would try to answer your question.
Powerpath will install on npiv lpars. Are these npiv?
As far as the license, technically each copy of Powerpath installed should have a license. I would advise to check with the licensing dept. to be sure.
