ImageAssist error during capture--failed to auto detect an OS system drive

Hello Everyone-

I'm fairly new to image assist, but have made successful images with it in the past.

After removing all drivers, validating and running sysprep, I shut the machine down, boot up with the USB version and attempt to capture my final.

I then get an error that says:

Failed to auto detect an OS system drive! Please manually select the correct drive letter.

After hitting OK twice, it returns me to the shell where the only option is to exit and reboot.

Anyone else seen this? What gives?

Hello,

I would like for you to boot to the DIA USB thumb drive that was created, to the right there is an up an down arrow expand and then go to File Explorer. go to the root of c: and try to copy your Gold image.

let me know if that works by sending an email to US_OSImaging@Dell.com

thank you,

Hi

I had the very same issue and when i investigated further,

my device had kicked off encrypting itself and that was the reason,

so to fix it!, boot into the system OS ensure the drive is NOT Encrypted (Turn off Bitlocker) and then try to capture then and it will work.
