3880 case side panel
I just purchased a Inspirion 3880. I started making some upgrades and have been looking for an aftermarket (mesh, glass, etc) side panel for the case. Does anyone know if somebody on this planet makes one? I Must be doing something wrong because I haven't found a single one. I thought about upgrading the whole case, but I'm not too confident in my ability to take that on. I really would appreciate any info, help or suggestions someone could offer. Thanks.

Dell uses custom cases, so something custom would have to be made.
I don't know about current production but many older Dell's used proprietary and undocumented front panel connections. Possible to install in an ATX case but a challenge.

Since you're already doing mods, you know the removable side panel on the Inspiron 3880 case is the one on left side and has air vents near the bottom. You wouldn't want to block them. So any custom-made panel (glass or plexi-) would have to accommodate suitable vents.
An entirely mesh panel may let too much dirt get inside the case and might even change airflow which could affect overall cooling efficiency...

You Seriously purchased a Pre-built and now trying to modify it ? I can understand upgrading SSD/RAM ETC, But case ??
All the cases Dell uses are Custom made for themselves I hardly think you can find Mods for it. No way. May for a higher end XPS or Alienware But certainly not for this model.
Changing the whole case which is less than 20-30$ if the best option.
BTW you will kill the warranty

Thanks.I saw a couple other models that dell had upgraded panels for so I was just wondering. I'll play the occasional game, but that's it. I do have big Project spreadsheets I work with, a couple modelng programs, and I was thinking of moving up to some real music recording type stuff. I've been using Audacity, etc, but now I want some real sw. Got the ram at 24, adding an ssd, and a light gpu. The case is just in case I wanna trick the thing out...lol.

....and yea, aftermarket case would be tge route if I ever wanna attempt that. It's got a 10th gen i5, 24gb ram, 1tb hdd, and it was right over 400 so no big deal on the warranty, ya know.

I have a recording studio. A couple of items.
1. Look into the free Cakewalk by Bandlab recording program. Its on a par with ProTools, Studio One, etc. Gets updates every two to three months. CLICK
2. Download and run the free (and popular) Resplendence Latency Mon program to clean up the PC for recording. CLICK
3. If you have an NVIDIA video card, good luck. EVERY NVIDIA video card I've tried has caused recording audio problems. AMD Radeon has not.
4. Get a real recording interface unit. The PC sound cards have poor latency and poor signal to noise

Not the wrong thread. User mentions moving to "real" recording programs.
