Bios update messed up computer
Earlier this week I got notification to update my Bios. After I completed update, I noticed most of my connections not working. I couldn't see my network drives along with other issues. I went to try to use my repair disk to go back to a previous state. My repair disk would not work, and computer would just load my current windows set up where very few programs would work. I spent a few days trying to get most of system back. Last month my computer crossed the 1-year date, so I couldn't get too far with Best Buy, but this morning I was able to find out how to go back to previous bios. I was able to do that however I still can't get my repair disk to load before Windows loads. Also, I have been getting errors that I needed password to open drives on my network that didn't need it previously. I found file for credentials for dell. I tried putting in log in info which it didn't have previously, but the info would not work. I do have a lot of things working now, but not all. I did try updating back to current bios. It did install but didn't fix all. Does anybody have any ideas how to fix this issue. Also, if this has happened to anyone else.
Thanks

BIOS controls the hardware when your system boot up. Your applications and programs are controlled by the operating system, Windows in this case. I don't know what lead you to believe that BIOS update was the cause but for certain, it was something else.
Without any information of the machine or version of operating system, I can only suggest to look into system restore function from Windows. Select a restore point to last week should give you back the condition of how your system was.

Have you scanned thoroughly for malware lately? Malwarebytes (free) is useful for this...
