Dell G5 5090 GPU upgradable?
Goodmorning fellow G5 gaming users! As most of us know now the new RTX 30's series is coming out and i for one am interested in the 3070! but my crucial question is ? is it compatible? does it fit in the G5 case? does any other part need to be upgraded as well? Here are my specs:
9th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 9700K (8-Core/8-Thread, 12MB Cache, Overclocked up to 4.6GHz on all cores)
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 Processor Label
460W,Chassis with Lighting,LED,Cleardoor
256GB M.2 PCIe NVMe Solid State Drive + 1TB 7200 rpm 3.5" SATA Hard Drive
16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 2666MHz UDIMM Non-ECC
NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 2060 SUPER 8GB GDDR6

Its not a standard power supply so changing it is NOT an option.
MAX Size for G5 series is 500W.
With an Aurora you can get 850W and 1000W option.
No such thing for G5.

Since the max power supply is 500W and the default is 360W and its NOT a normal power supply I would say not only is it not compatible its not likely to ever be compatible.
GPU AUX POWER
RTX 3090 2x PCIe 8-pin to mini 12 375W
RTX 3080 2x PCIe 8-pin to mini 12 330W
RTX 3070 1x PCIe 8-pin to mini 12 225W
75W slot power + 300W from 2X 8pin AUX power or 12 pin mini
Requires 850W or Higher power supply.

Got it so upgrading my GPU is completely out of the question. I am guessing that i would practically need to buy a new case + mother board +PSU if i ever were to want to get the 3070?
