Dell Inspiron 3847 no boot after update

I recently had a rather legenthly Dell update. The PC worked fine until I shut it off and tried to start it up the following day. NO BOOT AT ALL NOW. Tried unplugging all cords and pushing power button for 20 seconds but still nothing. Disconnected power supply from motherboard to drain power but still no restart at all. No post just a black screen. How do I recover this piece of equipment?

Sorry to hear this...

I presume this was an update recommended by Dell's SupportAssist software. In that case, you're not the only one who experienced a problem after SupportAssist initiated a BIOS update on the Inspiron 3847 (and 3647) to BIOS A08 in the last few days...

You will need to contact Dell Tech Support directly. Be sure to have the Service Tag handy and politely explain that the update came via SupportAssist.  If the person who takes your call isn't helpful, ask to be transferred to L3 support.

If you search these forums, you'll find links to other threads on this topic...
