Inspiron 5680, DisplayPort to DVI

Hello,

Sorry super random question but just wondering if I can hook up my 2 DVI monitors to the Inspirion 5680? (Via a DisplayPort to DVI cable) Just want to make sure it's working fine as I am not looking to update my monitors at this moment.

Thanks!

I don't see why not. I'm running one monitor from the DVI and the other from the HDMI port.

Most all of these connections are ONE WAY ONLY.

You cant take Display port to VGA for example and attach the VGA to VGA out on a computer and then input to Display port on the monitor for example.

Display port to DVI is One way and Digital Only.   You cant do Display port to DVI-A.  Same is true for USB C to Display port etc.  Its one way only.

There's always a USB3>{video} dongle where {video} is a port supported by the 2nd monitor.

Just make sure the dongle supports your version of Windows and the "native" (= "recommended" or "optimum") resolution of 2nd monitor.
