Inspiron 3847, ram upgrade, #2
Looking for advise: Can I use this RAM in my 3847: Patriot Viper DDR3 8GB 1600MHz BLACK SINGLE MODULE XMP 1.3 1.5V CAS 10 H/S BLACK PV38G160C0? I know I would need two of the modules. Am replacing 8gb (2X4gb) that came with the machine. Thanks in advance for your help.

Your best bet is to ask Patriot or your vendor. There is no advantage to XMP memory in an Inspiron - you can't overclock, which is the main point of XMP. There are no adjustable memory settings on your system.
