Inspiron 3891 Network Card

Hi,

I have just taken ownership of the Inspiron 3891 yesterday and have spent today setting it up and updating software and hardware (automatically).  Tonight the support assist wanted to do a Maintenance run, which found a hardware fault:

Network Card - Failed  error code: PCI Express Status Test - WPE01-EV3

Has anybody else had this and if so what was the solution?

Appart from this being picked up by the support assist tool, everything seems to be running well.  Connects to the internet by hard wire and wireless and there does not appear to be any other issues.

Thnks in advance

ignore Dell support assist is best option if your internet connection is working fine.  check LAN ethernet speed.  saves you headache and trouble.  some assist message is not accurate and sometimes downright dangerous if it recommends BIOS update.

Network Card - Failed  error code: PCI Express Status Test - WPE01-EV3

This error message is received (even when the computer has all the latest drivers) when a hardware scan is done and it is from the Realtec Network Card. Replacing the Realtec Network card or the motherboard does not resolve the issue as I have noticed. It appears that Realtec will have to release a new driver to fix the problem. The release of the new driver could be expedited if Dell takes up the issue with Realtec.
