Inspiron 5675 bios Update
Dell never tells you exactly what their new BIOS updates are for and I notice they have a new Inspiron 5675 bios 1.50 update. I am trying to see does this bios add support for 2nd generation Ryzen CPUs.

They keep these descriptions intentionally vague so not to tip hackers off to security holes.
This new one only says "Firmware updates to address security vulnerabilities". So unlikely it does anything else.
And probably doubtful they'd ever add support for 2nd Gen Ryzen CPUs on this PC model which is already ~5 years old ...

AMD has officially released support for 5th generation Ryzen products for X370 and B350 motherboards. And of course the Inspiron 5675 has an X370 motherboard. However - I have no idea if that applies just to motherboard OEMs and not to system integrators like Dell. See following...

That all may be true, but Dell would still have to create and release an updated BIOS to support those other CPUs.
I could be wrong, but just don't see that happening for a 5-year-old PC model. They're still updating BIOS to fix security issues, which is good, to keep these system safe, but adding new CPU support isn't essential.

I had the chance to get hold of an Inspiron 5675.
Take it from someone that knows about BIOS and writing them.
ALL Dell have to do is add the new CPUs of the 2nd and 3rd Gen Ryzen microcode to the BIOS.
It's an X370 board.
Regardless of any garble that people tell you, and X370 board WILL accept those chips.
Dell is just choosing NOT to do this (5 minute job), just so you will upgrade your PC every 2 years
Even MORE alarming is that Windows 11 requires Ryzen 2nd Gen chips as a minimum requirement
That's why you see MORE Dell units in the landfill than anything else
After reading that Dell won't update a bios, I am passing. Nothing has changed

He/she is not asking for instructions to install the bios. He is asking if the bios contains microcode to add Ryzen Gen2 and 3 CPUs
