Inspiron 5675, upgrades, CPU, GPU.

I've got a 5675 with a ryzen 5 1400 and rx570 and I want to upgrade to a ryzen7 2700x and rx580, can I do that or do I have to stick with another ryzen 5 chip? And do I need a new psu to go up to rx580 8gb?

Hi @Ihatenicknames ,

You may refer to this thread with similar discussion. Latest BIOS of 5675 still not with 2nd gen Ryzen support. Consider an upgrade to 1700X or 1800X while they work on many user's builds shown in Userbenchmark.

Thanks @bmcowboy, for the cpu information. Do you know what would be a good power supply upgrade for the 5675. I'm thinking of either a rx 580 or rx 590. I think the 580 would run on stock power supply but I don't think the 590 will. Any help will be great.

Hi @Ihatenicknames ,

For RX 580 Spec it shows Typical Board Power (Desktop) at 185w, with PSU recommendation at 500w.
For RX 590 Spec, power supply requirement not shown. However, the retail card from XFX shows minimum power supply requirement as 500w and recommend a 550w PSU.

While Inspiron 5675  stock PSU at 460w only, it may not be suitable for either cards. Check out this thread with similar discussion, including recommendations of 850w PSU with part number.
