Inspiron 5680 bluetooth

Hello,

When I go to my bluetooth settings, my option to turn it on and off is gone. I've tried scanning for updates and it says its up to date. My pc is also up to date. I have also tried to delete it and reinstall it and its still not working.

Version of Windows? Did you recently update to Win 10 v2004?

Is Bluetooth listed in Device Manager?

Try this:

  1. Shutdown system.
  2. Unplug AC power cord and then press power button for 10 seconds
  3. Power on system and go to Device Manager
  4. Check if the Bluetooth card is present and installed correctly in Device Manager
  5. If not, uninstall the Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed) or Bluetooth yellow bang device
  6. Click scan for hardware changes on toolbar, the Bluetooth driver should be installed

Do you recall how you fixed this problem? I'm having it now and none of the solutions I've seen online have helped so far. Inspiron 5680, windows 10. Everything is up to date... I actually think it was the most recent windows update that bricked the Bluetooth because it worked fine before it.

Do you have the most recent driver?

Did you try what I posted above?

Is Qualcomm BT listed in Device Manager? Is your WiFi working (same card as BT)?

If you click View>Show hidden devices on Device Manager's toolbar do you see any "Unknown" listed anywhere in Device Manager?

Took me a few days of looking. My Bluetooth was on, just could not add MPOW headset.

This does not work from control panel.

This is how I added my BT headset:

go to  settings
network and internet
advanced settings
click the drop down arrow on right of the Bluetooth Network Connection
click EDIT on More adapter settings
you get a popup with 2 tabs, click Bluetooth
at bottom, click Manage Bluetooth Personal Area Network Devices
you get a window to add a device or a printer(different from control Panel)
click on device
put your item to add in pairing mode
This worked for me.

I see no other way to get to this.
