Inspiron 660s, remove ODD, replace with SSD?

Hi,

I was wondering if it is possible to replace the ODD with a SSD in the Dell Inspiron 660s? Is the port used by the optical drive a SATA III 6Gb/s port? I would like to use the SSD as the primary drive for the OS, while the HDD as a secondary drive for media storage. I'm currently running with the following specifications;

- (64-bit) Intel i5-3330s
- 8GB Ram
- Zotac GT1030 2GB GDDR5 LP

The Inspiron 660s has two SATA 3.0 6Gb/s ports =
Blue SATA 0
White SATA 1

Possible yes. Once you remove the ODD, you will have to figure out how to mount the SSD and find some sort of front bezel cover. Then somehow clone the data on the old drive to the SSD. Other users will have to explain this process.

You could use a Laptop Drive Caddy with the Media bay adapter to do this.
