My Inspiron 3847 only has 3 options in the Advanced section of my UEFI BIOS

I did some upgrades to my Dell Inspiron 3847.  One of those being a ram upgrade from the basic Hynix ram it came with that was 2x4GB and ran at 1600MHz, which is the max the motherboard allowed, no problem.  I then swapped it out for Corsair Vengeance LP DDR3 1600 C10 2x8GB ram so I'd have 16GB of ram at the max speed my motherboard will allow.  However when I went into BIOS I noticed that my computer was only running it at 1333 MHz so I figured I would just turn on the XMP profile or reconfigure the ram speed.  But I went to my advanced options and as the picture below shows I only have those 3 options.  I updated my BIOS from A08 to A11 earlier today to get the newest version of the BIOS I can get but it didn't change my options available.  Is there a way to get more advanced options or do I need to change my ram that has a base clock of 1600 Mhz?XUYW9676.JPG

I heard Crucial's guarantee is that if it does not work money back but they may not have tested all ram for each Dell model.

if you want to choose Crucial go for these user validated models:

Crucial CT102464BD160B.M16 2x8GB 69x 53% - -
      - -
Crucial CT102464BD160B.C16 2x8GB 51x 53% - -
Crucial BLS8G3D1609DS1S00. 2x8GB 49x 55% - -

FYI Dell OEM 16 gb

370-ABEM : 16GB Dual Channel DDR3 1600MHz (8GBx2)
PART NUMBER DESCRIPTION QUANTITY
VR648 DIMM,8GB,1600,2RX8,4G,DDR3L,U 2

The above Dell ram is validated to run at 1600 MHz in 3847 as shown in the BIOS screenshot

XMP (and other overclocking options) are only available on certain gaming PC's.

I figured it probably wouldn't have XMP but I'm not sure why other computers that use UEFI have more configure options and why mine doesn't

So how would you recommend I be able to run my PC with 16GB of ram at 1600MHz?

The BIOS on most Dell's are this way.  I've worked on some HP's and similar BIOS setup/limitations.

You have to get into the Dell Alienware and some commercial workstation models to get more flexible BIOS options such as XMP and overclocking.

Dell bios does not like the ram you put in. I would suggest try to buy second hand Dell OEM 2x8 GB ram for 3847 or choose of the user validated 2x8 GB in 3847:

I found some Crucial ram that is verified by Crucial's website to work with the Inspiron 3847 and run at 1600MHz so would that be my best option?
