Random Chime when PC is Idle
Hi
We are running Windows 10 on a Dell Inspiron 3662. When the PC is left idle for a period, it continuously chimes approx. every 5 mins. I have turned off all notifications but this has not solved it. I also turned off the Asterisk and Notifications sounds under the Sounds task. But we still have this chime.
Any ideas what we should do?

This might help. I believe it has a reference to Kaspersky AV, not sure if you are using that AV.

Anything in the Windows Event Viewer around the time of a chime?
When PC is "idle", does that mean it's gone to sleep or into hibernation? Try telling PC to sleep: never, and hibernation: never. Both settings in your active Windows Power plan. See if that helps.
If that doesn't help, disconnect all USB devices, except mouse and keyboard. See if that stops the chimes.

USB and NIC and and and going to sleep will do this. Plugging in a usb mouse or flash drive will chime.
You have to turn power savings to OFF and Turn hard drives off to 480 minutes or never and turn nic off to never and turn usb off to never and hibernate to never etc.

Windows 10 after feature update will say that the recovery drive is almost out of space. The event log will be filled with these as well.
The fix is to remove the drive letter from the recovery drive.
