Its not a simple switch.

You can force it with the Update now link.

Keep in mind that audio and video and other OEM drivers may need REINSTALL after the feature update.

Sandisk USB flash and SD cards are faked all the time.

Use 32 gig sandisk USB 2.0 flash drive for installer.

Installing SSD where HDD was will not be optimized and will be written to death in several hours if not set the right way.

Clean install with SATA OPERATION Set to AHCI works fine.

Hi falcon and the winter soldier

You will need to install a disk transfer tool like EaseUS. Then transfer your os assuming your ssd is attached. After that, restart and then shut down. After that, remove the hard drive and switch to ahci in the bios. Then you can change your boot drive.

You can use Macrium Reflect (free) to image the HDD and move that image onto a new SSD.

Since you only have one internal drive bay for a HDD drive (the other drive bay is for an optical drive), you'll have to save the (Macrium) image, including ALL partitions, on an external USB HDD. Then swap in a new 2.5" SATA SSD, using an inexpensive tray to mount a 2.5" SSD in the 3.5" drive bay.

You'll need to use a bootable USB stick, which you create with whichever program you used to image the HDD, to boot the PC so you can move the image from the external USB drive onto the new SSD. Be sure to create the USB stick and test that it boots the PC, before you swap drives.

NOTE: If the new SSD has more storage space than the HDD, you can expand the partitions to use all of that extra space. Macrium has the capability to expand partitions once the image is on the new SSD, but I never used the other app that was recommended so I don't know if it can -or not- change partition sizes.

The Service Manual has instructions to remove the HDD cage, replace the drive in that cage, and reinstall the cage, etc.
