WK636p wireless keyboard - Num Lock will be disable automatically

The light goes off because keeping it on uses power.  This is by design.

I too have this problem at my workplace.

We are a financial institution, and it is vitally critical for us to know if the numlock and capslock are enabled or not.

This is an unviable products, surely being a USB product, the firmware can be modified?

I'm not sure if the "WK636p" wireless keyboard is the same as the Dell Wireless "KM636" (keyboard/mouse 636), but you might look into the possibility their Wireless Keyboard Caps-Lock, Scroll-Lock and Num-Lock Indicator  app for Win 7, Win 8.1 and Win 10 will show the num lock and cap lock status on the screen (or taskbar) even after the keyboard LEDs go off.

And if you Google around, there are some free and paid apps that put num lock and cap lock indicators either on the taskbar or in a small floating window on the screen. I know nothing about their reliability or safety, so I won't post any links here..

To be safe, manually set a System Restore point before you install any of these apps so you can easily remove it if it doesn't work the way you want and/or causes problems.

And -obviously- if you're in a corporate environment, you should get official approval from your IT team before downloading and installing any apps. And at least one of these free apps is only for personal use.

I prefer turn on the leds and keep it, not an indicator on my laptop screen. Isnt acceptable Dell was made the product with this function "auto turn off led". Im the owner of the product, i should be the who decides if its keeps the leds on or off.

Someone knows a way to change this function?
