7537, Screen keeps dimming when unplugged!

I've configured it not to do so in the Intel control panel as well as in the windows power advanced options. To me, it seems like a driver issue but Dell hasn't updated its driver since 2017 and even then the base driver date is somewhere around 2016.

I tried to update to the generic driver but for some reason or the other, I cannot do it.

This problem only happens when the laptop is unplugged. It's working as it should when plugged in.

I've been facing this issue for over 4 years now and because of it, I can't use the machine unplugged. Also, it's not like the dimming can be fixed through the screen brightness keys. It's a weird grey dimming that happens that doesn't respond to these keys as well.

Need a proper and concrete solution. Please help.

Check the setup screen - there is usually a setting in there (which by default sets the screen to dim on battery).

F2 at powerup.

Just did a reboot to check. Sorry, no such settings there.

Here are some screengrabs just in case I missed it.
