After writing whole answer I had to login and I had to write the whole answer again. Please fix it.

I own a dell 5577 gaming.

Once dell replaced my motherboard. After that I noticed frame drops and stutters. During a stress test using Intel XTU and MSI combustor I found that my cpu is thermal throttling and frames drop to 20. I found out from the forums that cpu needs to be repasted after removing heat sink(motherboard replacement).

I contacted dell and explained the issue. I asked them to just repaste the cpu and gpu. They were kind enough to replace heatsink and 2 fans(even after telling them fans are working fine). The tech repasted the cpu and gpu and replaced the parts.

Finally the fps drop issue is resolved.

One youtube video suggested to repaste the cpu every year(if using heavily). So I recommend you to buy a thermal paste like arctic silver and repaste cpu and gpu(if your system is not in warranty).

Make sure there is some gap on the bottom of the laptop when you are gaming for the fans to suck air in.

Go to dell support page and type your service tag(bottom of laptop) and you will find if you still have warranty.(Generally comes with 1 yr)

Thanks for your reply.

Laptop is more than a year old. So i think it is out of normal 1y warranty offered by dell.
So i think, i have to send it to dell and get their opinion.
Also i have to ask how much they will charge???

I have never heard before to repaste every year. Sounds really strange!!!! It is a gaming laptop.
