G15 5515, AWCC not working

Hey I got a dell g15 5515 laptop with the rtx 3050. Now I have all of the latest drivers straight from dell and the latest geforce drivers if that's relevant but the command center just doesn't work. To be more precise it starts ( very slowly and sometimes just crashes)  but then there's a message that there's a new update and it's downloading new components and it just does nothing the bar doesn't move or anything and I can't use the app (yes I have reinstalled it a few times). This also makes the pc unusable as all of the Internet bandwidth goes to it. But then I got another problem my keyboard didn't come with the g key. But it works inside the command center fn+F9 activates g shift just fine and the fans go turbo mode but when I turn it off nothing happens and sometimes a laptop reset doesn't help. That with the combination of the other problem is making me question the use of this programm as I have uninstalled all the other bloatware but I do find the button semi useful which is why I'm asking for help.

Rigthtyo Sorry about that but I managed to Fix it. What I did was instead of reinstalling the Alienware software outright I went into Settings>Apps>(On the Alienware comand center)Advanced Options>Reset and I didn't even know that existed in windows but it worked the update followed normally and even though it said it would delete the apps data My profiles remained so that was interesting. Oh and also after the update the game shift works now. I'm still mad that the keyboard doesn't have a cool G on it though.

Hello everyone,

If you're experiencing issues with the Alienware Command Center (AWCC) on your Dell G15, follow these steps to uninstall and reinstall the software:

Uninstalling Alienware Command Center

  1. Uninstall from Programs and Features:

    • Press and hold the Windows key, then press the Q key.
    • Type "programs and features" in the search box.
    • Select "Add or remove programs" from the list.
    • Locate "Alienware Command Center" in the list.
    • In Windows 11, click the three dots next to Alienware Command Center and select "Uninstall". Follow the prompts.
  2. Delete Alienware Folders:

    • Press and hold the Windows key, then press the R key to open the Run command.
    • Type %appdata% and press Enter. Delete any Alienware folder.
    • Type %programdata% and press Enter. Delete any Alienware folder.
    • Navigate to C:\Program Files\Alienware\ and delete the Command Center folder. Check C:\Program Files (x86) for older versions and delete the Command Center folder if present.
    • Go to the Documents folder and delete the AlienFX and Alienware TactX folders.
  3. Restart the Computer:

    • Restart your computer to complete the uninstallation process (do not skip this step).

Reinstalling Alienware Command Center

  1. Download and Install SupportAssist:

    • Go to the Dell website.
    • Identify your Dell product by entering the Service Tag, Express Service Code, or Serial number, or click "Browse all products" to manually select your Dell product.
    • Select the latest version of Alienware Command Center available under the "Application" category.
    • Download the installer file.
  2. Install Alienware Command Center:

    • Open the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the software.
    • Allow the program to install additional components required for the features to work correctly.
  3. Test the Installation:

    • Once the installation is complete, open the Alienware Command Center to ensure it is working properly.

We tried reaching you on a private message asking for the Service Tag number to ascertain the warranty but did not receive a response. Please feel free to reply to the private message whenever you are available.

I found to Completely Uninstall with Revo or Similar and remove all traces of Command Center and OC Control. (Dell Needs a Clean Utility) Once done reboot.
1. Start Services.msc
2. Stop Alienware Client Management Service   (Just Stop leave it in Automatic, the reason being if not stopped step-3 is fruitless)
3. Delete Folder c:\ProgramData\Dell\UpdateService (Just Folder UpdateService)
4. Install Alienware Command Center
5. Enjoy!!!!
