BIOS not detect SSD
Inspiron 5565
replaced HDD with SanDisk SSD Plus 2TB (SDSSDA-2T00-G26)
BIOS v1.1.1
Advanced/SATA Operation = AHCI
Boot/Secure Boot = Disable
Boot/Legacy Option ROMs = Enable
Boot/Boot List Option = UEFI
Main/First HDD = [Not Detected]
Main/SATA ODD = PLDS DVD+/-RW DU-8A5LH

I experienced the same problem, but here is what I did to get around it.
I think that updating the BIOS may have been what did it, but I do not know. On May 17, 2021 Dell released an update to the system BIOS, available through Dell Update.
Also, I found and used a free utility called Disk Genius to clone my original hard drive. I used the System Migration utility, and not the Cone Hard drive utility.
(For good measure I made both USB and CD recovery drives.)
Theis time, after I put the new SSD drive in and powered up my laptop it went through a different series of events.
First, Support Assist came up.
The next screen that came up was Preparing Automatic Repairs.
Then the message came up, “Preparing disk errors. This might take an hour to prepare.” (It took about 5 minutes. Then everything came back.)
I did a few reboots, just to make sure all was well.
Like I said, I think it was the BIOS upgrade, but the BIOS screens did not look any different.
