You'll want to manually update the bios. It's the solution I've just found on my Dell Inspiron 15 5570.

Go to the dell support area, find your laptop. Under diagnostics, find the updates section and tick the 'Urgent Updates Only' box.

Find and download the latest bios update to your windows laptop.

Run the file separately. It should automatically reboot your PC and update the Bios.

Welcome to the Dell Community @delldavid555  and @johanpol

First method:

Create a new folder on your desktop named “BIOS Update”

Then download your BIOS update.

Dell Inspiron 5379/5579/7773 System BIOS:

https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=gx021&oscode=wt64a&productcode=inspiron-13-5379-2-in-1-laptop

Copy the update to that folder you just created.

Close all Windows and Apps you may have open.

Go to the folder and right click on the update file and “Run as Administrator”

Second method:

Create a bootable USB drive using “Rufus”

https://rufus.ie/

Copy the BIOS update to the bootable USB drive you just created..

Insert USB drive, power-on and start tapping the “ F12 “ key.

Boot from USB and run the BIOS update.

After reboot test and post any results.

Best regards,

U2

First option I tried several times and does not work.

Second option i tried, but was not able to create a working/bootable USB key. Do not know why, but the Dell Latitude did not boot from it.

Third option is using the Dell BIOS Flash utility (F12). That did not work also.

I am lost. Should I request a support ticket for it?
