Without knowing what model system you have, how old the battery is and what the exact error is, no one can help.
If the system is under 12 months old, it is under warranty, but battery runtime is heavily dependent upon configuration (an ultraportable should do far better than 90 min; a gaming system may struggle to get that much out of a battery under normal circumstances).
And if the system once had significantly longer runtime, but no longer does -- and it's more than a couple of years old, it may simply be time for a new battery. The normal lifespan is 300-400 charge cycles or about 18-24 months before replacement is needed.
