Todays batteries don't last like batteries from long ago. 2 years of life is common. Know that today's laptops can run on adapters alone with battery removed since Dell replacement batteries are hard to find. Batteries do not last long on the shelf either. Dell batteries must come from Dell or a trusted parts supplier--not private sellers on the web.
