Computer: Inspiron 3582 upgrade questions?
Computer: Inspiron 3582
So it currently has 1TB 2.5hdd and 8gb dd4 3200mhz.
Dell says you can upgrade the ssd to 256gb in the m.2 and it maxes out memory at 8gb
What I am inquiring about is can I do these upgrades:
1) Put a 2tb ssd in the m.2 slot.
2) Install a secondary 2.5 ssd around 2tb
3) Install 16gb DDR4 3200mhz

1) You can put a 2TB M.2 drive in the 3582
2) Yes you can install a 2TB SATA SSD in addition to the M.2 drive
3) Dell specs and Crucial list the maximum as 8GB because there is only 1 SODIMM slot on the MB.

Hello,
No 8GB maximum at 2400 mhz anything with a higher clockspeed will downclock.

Can the mhz still be 3200 on the memory?

I also saw the original you had posted that it may be possible to put 16gb in but make sure it’s from a reputable place that would take returns if it doesn’t work. Is that still a possibility or have you found that 8gb is just the maximum we can do?

@confuseduser43 is spot on that the 3200 RAM will run at 2400. Crucial lists 3200 RAM on this page for your system but it will downclock to 2400 as correctly pointed out.
