Cursor moving on it's own
I recently bought a Dell laptop for my placement purposes.
It was hanging a lot just within a few days of purchase. Then I got a replacement. But unfortunately the new laptop is also hanging. I don't even know how to explain this properly, but the cursor is moving on it's own while I am studying and watching yt videos. The video is pausing and playing on it's own and even changing to full screen and exiting full screen without me even touching the touch pad. Not just this but text is getting highlighted on it's own and for several times. The worst part is the cursor moving violently on its own and hanging during online exams. Please help me fix this. I can't even ask for another replacement. I just don't know what to do about this right now. I took videos but there was no option to attach them but as you can see text highlighted on it's own below. Please let me know what's happening and how to fix it as it's scary and frustrating at the same time.

The first laptop that I bought was also hanging and I got it replaced with great difficulty. This is actually the replaced one but unfortunately this is also not working properly. I don't think they will replace this one as well.

If you set your touchpad sensitivity on your laptop too high, the cursor will move at the slightest touch. As such, you should take a look at its sensitivity setting. Here's how to change the touchpad sensitivity on your laptop: Click Start, then head to Settings > Devices.

No I have kept it 4 out of 10 only. I haven't kept it at the highest. The cursor moves on it's own rapidly at the same place while I am doing some task.

Will they consider replacement for a second time or should I just give it to a local computer repair center to fix it?. I am still paying EMI for it, for a faulty one..

Hey. I am from India. I see. Even the last replacement wasn't easy. I had to fight and convince them to get it replaced. They told me there is no replacement option at all.

Dell keeps deleting my replies, because they are scum.
In most western countries, it is the law that a manufacturer must replace or repair the defective products they sell. Which means that if they replaced your defective laptop with another defective laptop, they have to fix the replacement or replace it. But if they can't fix it - and they can't - then they MUST refund you.

I made a huge mistake by purchasing Dell. It is such a waste of money and time. I totally regret choosing a Dell laptop. The cursor is bouncing on it's own, disappearing at times. The yt videos pause and play on it's own and the laptop keeps hanging from time to time. I can't even give an online exam for college peacefully. The cursor keeps moving violently on it's own and goes out of control. It is such a pain. They won't really help you as well. They will simply send technicians to replace the parts with old refurbished parts or they would simply run a remote test but wouldn't refund or replace. I lost my money, time and peace by choosing Dell. I regret it a lot.

You'll find just as many dissatisfied with any other brand of system -- more in the case of some. Everyone's experience varies -- mine is that there are far worse choices than Dell out there (starting with HP).
Everything you're describing sounds like a Windows issue, not a hardware issue.

Not really, I also tried reinstalling the Windows Operating system. But the problem still persists.
