DELL BIOS SSD HD Protection Password is not working. How to encrypt the data?

Spoiler

We have a DELL Inspirion 17 7000 Series.

For system and Date protection we use DELL BIOS Password and SSD HD Password protection.

Now the mainboard was broken and to get the data, we put in another Dell computer with Dell Bios, but we got no access to the data on the SSD HD.

If you type the password, system will show message that password is wrong.

Also the password from DELL Support which was genrated is not working.

DELL support told me that ii is not the original HD from original DELL System, but we bought it like that.

Has anyone an idea to get access to the SSD HD data, maybe with a tool?

The Hardisk is from Samsung.

Thanks!

The hard drive password does not encrypt the data -- that can only be done by an encryption utility like a third-party tool or by Bitlocker.

The hard drive password is stored in a user-inaccessible portion of the drive itself, and separately in the system CMOS.  The original system is required to access the data.

There are ways to remove the password from the drive, but you will need to send it off to a data recovery service with the tools to do the job -- it cannot be done by the user.  Whether you want to do that depends on the value of the data -- it will cost more than simply replacing the drive if you don't need the data on the drive.  If you do need it, try Gillware -- they are very reputable.
