Dell 7567 keyboard backlight

the Keyboard backlighting on my Dell 7567 stopped working a few days ago, I hadn't downloaded anything new or updated the laptop that day. I have checked in the mobility center and when I try to move the keyboard brightness slider it instantly jumps back to the very left side, and when I try to run the BacklitKB.exe it gives me an error saying "Unable to detect the backlight keyboard" any Idea how to fix this? Thanks

Hi Kristopher1,

Thanks for posting.  Apologies that your system is not performing as expected.

Please check for hardware issues by running Dell SupportAssist, making a note of any error messages and post back.  If there are none, it could indicate either a software or driver issue.

Please follow the steps below:

  1. At boot press F2 to go to the BIOS utility;
  2. Go to System configuration -> Keyboard Backlight with AC: found it already enabled;
  3. Disable it and click Apply;
  4. Enable it again and click Apply;
  5. Check the keyboard light by pressing Fn+F10 (at this point for me it stayed on, no more fading);
  6. Exit the BIOS Utility.

If you still require assistance and the system is under warranty, you may contact me privately. Be sure to include your personal information (name, address, telephone, email) and your computer's service tag number in your message. Thanks.

If there is no warranty, then you could contact our Out of Warranty team to get a quote for a paid service request.
