Dell Backup and Recovery File Recovery

Hello,

I recently had to backup my files to a Seagate external drive. I am wondering what program Dell uses so I can  view the backup files on the Seagate. Seagate techs can’t help me.
Prior to the backup and restore. I was running Win 10 on my Inspiron 17R, I now have Win 8.1.
I’m also trying to install Win 10, having no luck.
The unfortunate part is I have many years of grandkids photos, camping.
Thanks!!

What program did you use to backup the files and did you do a complete drive image? My point is that if you did a complete drive image then you should be able to restore the image from the backup drive.

ress F8 during boot (startup screen)   Select “Repair Your Computer”   Select “Dell Backup and Recovery” from the Recovery Options Menu.
...
  1. Create reinstall disks (rescue disks) for your device.
  2. Reset your device to the original factory state.
  3. Manually back up and restore your data.

Thanks for the reply.
The device was reset to the original factory state, Windows 8, I then upgraded to Windows 8.1 because 8 was not supported anymore. I used a Seagate external drive to create the rescue disk. Unfortunately the rescue disk did not reload my personal files i.e. photos. Seagate recommended that I find out what the Dell program used to create the files on the rescue disk so I could read them.
Thanks

Just wanted to say thanks for responding to my request. Fortunately I found all my files in a Temp_Migration File.
Have a great evening!
