Dell G3 3579 Fan control in 2020
Hello,
I've tried googling but haven't found any satisfactory answers. I mostly use the laptop for studying and would like it to stay as silent as possible (merely having another monitor + Youtube + OneNote seem to make the fan louder) and I wouldn't mind if this meant that the laptop would be slower.
My current bios is 1.5.1, I don't think I ever updated it. Is it true that in 1.11.0 I can have more control over my fans in Power manager on the G3 ?

It's a good practice to keep your BIOS up to date, so it have always the latest issues fix, you might also install the Dell Power Manager, it have a section called "Thermal Management", and choose the Quiet profile.

No. Upgrade to 1.10 only. In 1.11 everything is noticeably nosier. Even setting it to Quiet doesn't help.

If you have warranty period change your laptop and buy HP or Acer brand laptop. They are better than Dell. Because early 2019 Dell laptop brand is better but after 2019 dell inspiron brand have atleast one issue.
