Does the light come on briefly when you power up the system? If it does not, and you have it enabled in setup, something is physically wrong (it has failed or become disconnected from the system board).
Actually it demands some update on the alienware control center, have been dealing with this issue, and didn't wanted to use the update bc I wasn't using my nb to games but to cg, 3d and video editing, didn't find the backlit kb on the bios, nor in system, anywhere, then give the awcc a shot, downloaded the update and now the kb is beautifully lit! hope it helps

Reinstall Alienware Command Center and it will works if not its problem with your RGB
