Have the same laptop with the same configuration and with the same problem waking it up from sleeping on battery power! Exactly the same!
Have to add that if I fully turn off the laptop and turn it on while on battery - everything works smoothly, but if laptop goes into sleep mode while on battery then it will blink, turn off and the only way to turn it back is connect AC power.
What is wrong with these laptops? And the most important what should we do?
After googling a lot, I found some similar issues with Dell G5 laptop on Microsoft forums. Sorry can't find the links but the topic was about a person who had the same laptop model working fine, later updated Windows 10 from earlier version 19xx to a newer one 19xx and got the same issue with laptop sleeping.
So I decided to update my current version Windows 10 19xx to version 2004. And now it seems that laptop works just fine. I can put laptop into sleep mode (to be more precise hibernate mode) and turn it on without AC power. Performed a lot of tests - no failures so far.
For info. My current BIOS version 1.12 for "Dell G5 5590 and G7 7590/7790". There is an update available (1.13.1) and I will try it if problem with sleep mode return.
