Dell Inspiron 3558 power problem
My Dell Inspiron 3558 is about 4 years old now and when I try to charge it, it will not charge. I've opened it up and noticed the power jack was loose and it was a screw that broke that made it loose. I think it's the battery because when I boot with the battery it doesn't boot all the way and shuts down, but when I boot without the battery, it boots properly and another thing I noticed was that it gave me a message saying that the charger couldn't be recognized but I was using the charger that came with it. I've tried cleaning the pins for the battery on the laptop but that didn't work. So the problem might be the power jack, battery, charger, or something else possibly.

The two most likely parts at fault:
The AC adapter
The DC jack.
If you have another Dell adapter, try it - if it's recognized, your original adapter is faulty. If it's not, replace the DC jack:

I replaced the motherboard, the DC jack and got a brand new 150W adapter...
Still not charging!!!! And the battery is new too...
What else can be done please!
