Dell Inspiron 5567 3 amber 5 white light blinking

My laptop's battery life deteriorated last year. It stayed on only when plugged in and turned off in about 5-10 minutes after it was unplugged from charging as battery % reached zero. I had been using it since last year by keeping it plugged in to charging.

The last time I shut it down and tried turning on the next day. It won't start. I hit the power button while kept in charging and see the charging light blink repeatedly about 4-5 times in this fashion: 3 orange lights, 5 white lights. After this i hear the fan for 5 seconds. And it goes back to charging showing white light constantly turned on.

I replaced the battery today with a new one at a store where the service person turned it on after putting it into bios or something that I don't clearly remember, but it's still showing the same behaviour now that I've brought it back home.

The service center is quite far and I don't think I'll be going anytime soon.

I'd be glad if someone could help me out since I've got my exams coming soon and I'm dependent on it for my studies.

1)shutdown the device & unplug ac adapter if connected.

2)remove the base cover.

3)Disconnect the battery from the motherboard and remove it.

4)Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds to release residual elektricity.

5)rebuild everything

Solved, the battery was replaced. I did a hard reset by pressing the power button for a really long time and then releasing it and then hitting it again. Had to do this several times even after the new battery was installed, but now it is working completely fine.
