Dell Inspiron 700m CPU compatibility.
Yeah yeah, its a 17 year old computer, I don't care.
I'm in a bit of a "lets go overboard and completely max out this computer" type mood.
With the SSD situation sorted, I did a little research on what cpus this thing supports. The 1.7Ghz pentium M in there is no slouch! But much like rust, technology never sleeps.
But I can't find any definitive information. There are cpu compatibility lists for this laptop's chipset (intel 855GME?) but I have doubts about if those lists apply to the 700m given its both quite old and probably has a limited "supported cpu list" in its bios.
So if anyone has any information on cpu compatibility, please let me know.

You can use only Pentium-M CPUs, but these were made up to 2.1 GHz

@AutisticML You're a person after my own heart. I bought a lot of three 710m and I'm also trying to push this form factor to it's limit (Something about a computer this size having a DVD drive just amuses me). After finding out the CPU wasn't soldered in some googling led me to this thread. Did you ever happen to upgrade the processor and if so how did that go?
