Dell Inspiron Wifi Issues

I recently purchased a Dell Inspiron 15 3000 and have noticed abysmally slow Wi-Fi download speeds. While the upload speed usually clocks in at about 35 MBPS, the download speed is lucky to crack 1. Other devices in my house are seeing a download speed of about 30 MBPS while connected to the Wi-Fi. This computer does not have SmartByte installed, and sees blazing fast download speeds when connected to Ethernet. Are there any solutions for this?

You didn't mention if your using the 2.4 band or 5 Ghz band? Also the WiFi card determines the potential speed and if its a 1x1 card not a 2x2 your not gonna see maximum speeds. Although what you appear to be getting with download speeds are slow. I would completely uninstall the current driver for WiFi card and re install the most recent driver. Then try your tests first using 2.4 band then 5 Ghz band to see if there is a difference. If you get similar results you may have a bad card or what I occasionally see is a antenna became disconnected from the card. On a rare occasional a card may not work well with router with defaults. You may have to tweak advanced setting with card to get best performance. Such as manually setting channels, adjusting sensitivity to adjacent channels. Sometimes cards are overly aggressive reducing speeds because of interference. Something in your house may be causing significant issues with that card. I've seen smart devices seriously affect signals.
