Dell Latitude e6540 error Code 31 There is a problem with Microsoft Basic Display Adapter
dell latitude e6540- There is a problem with Microsoft Basic Display Adapter device. For more information, search for 'graphics device driver error code 31' the adapter does not update. when i uninstall and restart windows freezes on windows start logo and i have to run a startup repair which does not do any changes to the microsoft basic display adapter device. It still has a yellow triangle symbol next to it symbolizing that it doesnt work.

That is the MS generic GPU driver, did you try and install the Intel HD/Iris/Iris Pro Graphics Driver from the E6540 support page?

Solution did not work. Im running windows 10 64bit on my latitude e6540. message said,
This driver is not compatible
This driver is not applicable with Windows 10, 64-bit. Choose another product to re-enter your product details for this driver or visit the Product Support page to view all drivers for a different product.
I hear others have solved this used third party drivers. I might have to try that. That's also chatgpt's solution. I think Im going to try that. Unless, I have other solutions from you or others. Thanks for trying to help. Much appreciated.
