Yeah thanks! I have a bunch of HP's but thought I'd try out a Dell. I didn't pay much for it, I think about $450. Just disappointed that it didn't last a little longer. As far as the model, it doesn't really say anything on it but Inspiron. The tag does not even have the model number on it. Kinda strange I know but it is what it is.
Sorry you were unable to run FREE Malwarbytes. Perform "Disk Cleanup," on a regular basis. Dell "Support Assist"
I bought a ASUS 15", i7 2-1/2 years ago and after 1-1/2 years, it tells me I have a hard drive that is failing. I don't have it listed in my signature, but it is in the man cave, w Win 10, version 1909. When I turn it on, the display tells me to hit F1, and it loads up. $800.00 worth at the time. What a Bummer! I decided not to have a local computer repair firm. replace the HD. I still use time to time.
I bought this DELL 7572, i3, 14 months ago. And the other 6 year old DELL, my wife uses.
What are you talking about? Free Malware bytes? What does that have to do with the price of beans on Mars?
Glad your Dell works good for you...... Just didn't work out for us.
It was deciding factor in what we are going to use for my business going forward. We will be purchasing new computers for my business this year. Right now we have 16 stations each runs 3 monitors and we will be adding 5 new ones. I'm just glad this happened. We won't make the mistake of buying Dell that's for sure.
Did you reset? What have you done to try and resolve. Maybe someone else will jump in with things you might try to fix. Do you or did you perform, 'Disk Cleanup? "Support Assist?" It also has trouble shooting. Uninstall Win and re-install?
7 beeps does indicate a problem with the CPU. Yes, rarely does a CPU fail. Seeing that the OP stated it was lightly used, I doubt that it overheated, unless it was left running on something soft that restricted the intake vents.
As HP notebooks seem to be better built within the last several years, there have been reports of certain ones (with NVIDIA GPUs) that have failed after a couple years of use. These mostly date back to the Vista/7 no service pack years. The poor heat sink design caused the NVIDIA GPU to overheat, which caused the solder on the underside to melt, which in turn caused it to slowly back away from the motherboard. When a single solder contact broke as a result, the laptop would fail to POST. As suggested by other owners, using a heat gun to warm up the GPU in order to re-flow the solder and bridge the connections was necessary in order to get the laptop functional again. I've fixed two HP's (I want to say Pavilion dv6000) that had this problem, however the results were only temporary. Essentially it gave the owner of the laptop enough time to backup their files until the solder connection broke again.
Well if you buying for a business you would also purchase a 3 or 4 year Pro Plus warranty. With the Pro warranty you're dealing with English speaking Tech support I only guessing but I would say that Pro support is not farmed out to India and is here in the states.
I have had bad luck with the one HP notebook I have used
I Have had bad luck with Asus Tech Support on two notebooks of there's I have used.
i had good luck with Toshiba, in the old days they had local repair basicly next day fixes. the only time i need it with that notebook was to replace the CPU due to the year 2000 bug. LOL
I have had bad luck with Gateway notebooks, however with them in the begging they had good tech support and if their tech couldn't fix you, they would send a replacement until next day FedEx. The last on I purchase from them, they had farmed out tech support and so I move to
I switch to Asus and had a notebook last 2 years so I bought a 2nd gaming notebook, this one went to Asus Repair in California. They reinstall the OS and sent it back with the same issues. 2nd time to RMA this time an Asus CL took control of my RMA and him and his crew fixed it. My sister is still using that notebook today 8 years later. I lucked out do to my participation in the ROG Forum.
i this time purchased from Dell the notebook in my signature. My experience with Pro support is it took 3 calls and a few hours solving a simple issue. My trackpad was not turning off when a mouse was present. The 3rd tech had me install Dell Connect update, this uninstalled Support Assistant a Dell update. Anyway, Dell connect told me I needed to update an Intel IO driver and that fixed me. Dell Connect update is the tool the Pro Support techs use.
The 2nd issue I took to Dell Pro support was the failure of the Wi-fi BT card. Two separate calls to Support both techs wanted me to Reset my notebook. No way I was doing that! I just changed out the WiFi BT card with an updated Card again problem solved.
I don't think is matters what company you buy a computer from nowadays, everyone one of them seems to have tech support issues. This statement is made from someone that participates in multiple Support forums.
It seems Dell has made a complete 360 with support, several years ago they had many issues with Tech Support, then the made the changes they needed to make and for several years Support was great word got around people started buying a computer from them again. Now it appears for the general public tech support bad agin. For Business with Pro Plus and next business day in house tech Repair, I have this and haven't tried it since I have been able to solve the 2 issues I have with this Dell Notebook.
My small business will need to upgrade 3 workstations, I'm still up in the air as to whether to Purchase them or as they are now Built by myself. I'm leaning on purchasing them, but knowing I can probably build a better longer lasting WS myself. As far as notebooks go I only expect one to last 3 years. I'm currently still using my Asus Gaming notebook that is now 3 years old, My experimenting with this Dell 13" is ongoing about 14 months now. At this point, I'm not sure I'll buy another Dell or not.

@Aship
As another member mentioned "CPU" failure???
I have rarely seen a CPU fail so system board would be more like it.
We may be able to help more if we new the exact model number but not sure???
If not look at my "Signature" older HP laptops still kicking and will outlast most Dell laptops.
Stick with HP.
Best regards,
U2

@Aship Free Malwarbytes to check for malware on your system, causing some problem some where?? Who knows.
Here it is: https://www.malwarebytes.com/mwb-download/

And exactly how would I perform any of this if the computer will not boot up?
