Direct Key Creator will not execute

Question

I am using a Dell Laptop to create a boot disk for my Inspiron 3217. The computer name I am using says Desktop-6MNTFFG, with Windows 8. I went to the Dell Support put in my computer name and service tag and downloaded Dell Direct Key.  I extracted the files and now I am trying to open the desktop Direct Key Creator, but it will not open.  My Inspiron 3217 will not boot.  Please help. Thank you:JoyJR

I had the same problem.  I booted windows in Safe Mode and got it to work.
